Our vision was an organic material that combines the best of both worlds - our biodegradable filament GreenTEC Pro, made from renewable raw materials, and the strength of technical carbon composites, which are used for a wide variety of purposes in motorsport, aerospace, but also in medicine.

The material is characterized by low specific weight, high temperature resistance and high stiffness.

GreenTEC was launched by Extrudr in 2016 in an initiative for ecologically harmless filaments. The aim was to develop a biodegradable high-performance filament that can withstand mechanical influences similar to oil plastics, e.g. ABS. It should be usable for technical applications without any problems but should be made from biologically safe substances. In addition, the odor loads should also be reduced to allow users to have a pleasant printing experience.

After the success of the normal GreenTEC, the technical features should improve even more. Therefore, GreenTEC Pro was developed and released in 2018, which is intended to serve the technical applications in particular. Based upon the redevelopment, GreenTEC Pro Carbon was developed in 2019 to function even better in these difficult applications. As a carbon filament, the material has been developed especially with weight-dependent applications in focus and should additionally improve the maximum load on the material.

GreenTEC Pro Carbon was developed by Extrudr. The aim was to develop a biodegradable filament that can withstand mechanical influences similar to oil plastics, e.g. ABS. In addition, the odor loads should also be reduced in order to allow users to have the most pleasant printing experience possible.


Extrudr GreenTEC Pro Carbon is made of a high-performance bioplastic based on GreenTEC Pro. Due to the organic origin of this material, this is a perfect alternative to ordinary oil-based plastics.


GreenTEC is very easy to print, similar to PLA or PETG. No special prior knowledge is required, which is why even beginners can cope well with the material. The countless advantages over the more difficult to print ABS and the organic origin of the material enables it to be used in almost every project.

Technical data

GreenTEC Pro Carbon is a very heat-resistant material with better properties than conventional oil plastics. Due to the slight flexibility of the material, it is well equipped for external impacts. The material can also withstand mechanical and thermal loads.

In order to achieve additional improved properties, Carbon is added to the normal GreenTEC Pro, which improves stability, strength and also the lightness of the material.


Like GreenTEC Pro, the material can be used in many areas. GreenTEC Pro Carbon is particularly well suited for aerospace as well as the automotive industry and medicine. Due to its excellent mechanical properties, GreenTEC Pro Carbon can therefore be used in a wide range of areas. In addition, the material is certified for RoHS and REACH.
