Jacques OF 200 – Classical music meets 3D-printing

"Joyeux anniversaire, cher Jacques!" This year Offenbach am Main is celebrating the birthday of his probably most musical grandson: composer Jacques Offenbach would have been 200 years old this year. From September to November 2019, the City's Office of Culture and Sports Management invites you to a varied program of humorous, charming and very (Jacques) Offenbachesque productions and formats in honor of the special birthday child.

In November last year, two students of the College of Design (hfg) boarded the train to Paris. In their luggage they had a 3D strip light scanner, a camera and the idea to bring Jacques Offenbach from the Paris Cimetière de Montmartre to Offenbach. Or a copy of the bust perched on red marble in the cemetery of the French capital. Thanks to state-of-the-art computer and printing technology, the result of their trip was "Jacques OF-200", which will attend the festival events. A rapid and powerful trailer shows the genesis, of course, accompanied by music by Jacques Offenbach.
