🚀 @aerospaceteamgrazofficial is a student association that develops research rockets. For efficient combustion in their combustion chambers, they need special geometries, a challenge they solve with 3D printing.

🔧 Here, they printed casting molds from Extrudr DuraPro ASA filament, then cast them with HTPB (hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene). The molds let them freely shape the combustion chamber geometry and handle the solid propellant properly.

🔥 When the engine ignites, the mold burns together with the propellant. That means less propellant is needed, for a lighter rocket or more payload at the same launch weight.

🧡 This kind of innovation depends on high-quality filament. Extrudr's precise, reliable materials help the team meet the demands of rocket building and push the limits of what's technically possible.

Thank you, ASTG. We are happy we could join you on this journey!

🧡 First up: the neon orange fingerguards over the fans. They're printed in Extrudr ASA, required by the Formula Student rules, and carry the team's black shark logo 🦈, so you spot them right away when the car drives past.

🌡️ Then there are the cooling reservoirs. They make refilling easy and keep air from collecting in the cooling loop. Since the rules require them to handle high temperatures, the team printed them in Extrudr DuraPro PA12. Its thermal resistance is also what allows the complex internal structure.

Thank you, Bodensee Racing. We are happy we could support you on your journey in the last season!

#3dprinting #extrudr #extrudrfilament #ExtrudrDuraProASA #ExtrudrDuraProPA12Back in March, Team Simsalabim brought their 515-gram combat robot to @robofetz 2026 at TU Wien, built to push the limits of bio-based materials in one of the toughest environments there is: combat robots. They finished 4th. 🏆

The chassis and drive gears were printed in GreenTEC Pro, our bio-based filament. After standard PLA gears kept melting mid-match from the heat of their N20 motors, GreenTEC Pro's thermal resistance solved it completely. ⚙️
Prototyping ran on PLA NX2 MATT (Epic Purple and Black) before the final build.

Proud to see a bio-based material take this much heat and stress. We're happy to have supplied the materials behind this result. 🤝

Congratulations to Team Simsalabim on a strong showing!
